If you have ever wondered how a project that was never started out as a project could be considered "perhaps the best project this district has ever seen," then you'll want to check out the Dignity Toilets for Togo presentation this Thursday. Dignity Toilets builds concrete, self-composting toilets for individual families. Each one takes an average of six-eight people out of the bushes. Todate the project has taken almost half the village out of the fields in less than three years. Doc Reiss from Nor'Wester Rotary will present a powerpoint and video presentation on a little project that will soon qualify for a global grant with the help of the Port Townsend Rotary.
Rotary Holiday Event The Mead Werks at Wilderbee Farm – 223 Cook Avenue 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm (There is no regular noon meeting on the December 17th)
Mead will be the alcoholic beverage served at a no host bar. The Club will provide nonalcoholic beverages. Club members are invited to bring a favorite holiday treat or hors d’oeuvre. A sign up sheet will be sent around at the December 10 meeting. Join the Book Exchange: Bring a book that you would recommend to club members and exchange it for another book if you find one of interest. Any remaining books will be distributed by David Engle to local little libraries around town. Be prepared to bring your holiday spirit to participate in a game or two. Ugly holiday sweaters optional! (If you’re not sure if your special holiday sweater is ugly, it probably is.)
